This charming display was inspired by the beautiful colors found in a French Country kitchen. When painting any of UL’s melamine foundations, remember to use a spray paint formulated for plastic and give it enough time to dry and fully cure before applying the expression.

Think outside the box with this delightful “Hugs & Kisses” banner. Don’t be afraid to cut apart expressions and use them in creative ways. Each letter was applied to a coordinating decorative paper and then cut out before being applied to chipboard covered in a different decorative paper.

Create a playful welcome for any season with this versatile expression. As pictured, the welcome becomes a wintry wonderland in Robin’s Egg on the navy board. You can also turn it into a spring or summer welcome by using Wild Raspberry on the crème board. Want a fall look? Try Pumpkin Spice on the cocoa board. For a little additional bling, add little rhinestones to the dots on each letter.

This sweet sentiment is perfect in the traditional colors of love: red and pink. Instead of using vinyl effects on the letters, we used it to fill in the hearts, creating a fun, unexpected display.

Happy Holidays Expression Ideas

 I can’t think of a cuter way to decorate this holiday season than with the latest Customer Celebration Expression

Our MDF Pre-Drilled Board (#300132) with a set of four Bulldog Clips (#300134) is perfect for hanging stockings, Christmas cards, or even your kids’ lists for Santa. Just paint it with our Whipped Crème Toolbox  Paint (#300144) and tie coordinating ribbon through the top of each clip.

Add a little extra “bling” to the ornaments in the expression in both of these projects to give them a little extra sparkle. On the Crème Vintage Embossed board (#300155) simply add our Dress-Up Gems (#300104) to each of the ornaments and on the MDF Rectangle board (which is painted with our Whipped Crème Toolbox Paint [#30014]), just apply Clear Vinyl Effects (#300155) and then sprinkled gold glitter on top.  When placed on our Simple Easel (#300201), both of these projects make a terrific centerpiece in your entryway or on your dining room table. You can also hang either of them in any room in your home to add to the festive spirit of the season. 

Wish your friends, family and neighbors a very charming Happy Holiday season by placing the expression on your front door.  Just an extra little tip: to  easily remove the vinyl after the holiday season, use a blow dryer to warm the vinyl and the adhesive before peeling it off the surface.

Sampler Suggestions

It’s ok to cut apart the expression.  This expression works perfectly on UL’s new Photo Frame.   All you need to do is get over the fear of taking a pair of scissors to the expression.  All that’s missing is a fantastic photo to complete the piece.  

 This display is a real treat and illustrates the playfulness of Halloween. The multi-colored embellishments were created by combining two embellishments into one. The message board is great for leaving messages for your little ghosts and goblins—or to remind yourself to buy a treat or  two. 

 

I love Halloween decorations.  At first glance the simplicity of the black and white combo is quite striking and stands on its own.  To add texturizing and “shimmering” apply the our new Shimmer Vinyl Effects in a striped pattern across the skull. Let it completely dry, then go back over and fill in the gaps. You can also build upon the already dried vinyl effects to add more depth to certain areas.

  

Create an inviting sign that reflects the hospitality of the season using the Punched Metal Tile in the new Cocoa color. The warm tones of Cocoa, Pumpkin Spice, and Terra Cotta work together wonderfully to complement the sentiment “make yourself at home”.

Personalize Your Space

Create a homework station in your kids’ rooms. Our new Retro Tiles on page 98 in the Idea Catalog has awesome sets to choose from to help their study areas feel more inviting and personal. Choose the Classic Sports (#18385) as shown here or Groovy (#18383)and add Dry Erase Tiles (#80136) as shown here or Chalk Wall Square Tiles (#80136). Order an extra set of the Square Tiles and add one to the top of the study table for working out math problems, practicing handwriting, or just doodling.

Make a Grande Impact!

Shoes… can’t have enough of them! We have amazing designers at Uppercase Living and this was just one of the boutiques that came to life in 3D. The great thing about our Grande Format expressions (besides how beautiful the designs are) is that they work well in large area.




Combining the Grande Chandelier and an Outside the Home expression (or any one of our larger-sized expressions) works wonders in a large space… just remember that proportion and color are the keys to successful décor. When choosing expressions for a space, be sure to choose something to be the focal point. In this case, “Treat Yourself, Because You’re Worth It” in Berry Red & Crimson Red works perfectly because it stands out against the taupe wall. To add to the chic feel, a single Grande Chandelier and its matching smaller-sized Vintage Chandelier (two were used here) create a tone-on-tone effect to allow the expression to be the focal point. Our new baroque clock complements the look.

It’s always better to use larger expressions since smaller ones can get “lost” in larger spaces. Our Grande Format expressions are just perfect for that visual impact.

October is officially Breast Cancer Awareness month, but you don’t have to wait until then to share the message of hope. This simple project stands out even more with the addition of Vinyl Effects over the Shimmer Pink. Host a party in August and this expression is yours for FREE with a $300 party.







Cupcakes, cookies, “finger” sandwiches, whatever your favorite Halloween treat, serve them up on this playful charger. Terra cotta and lemon chiffon paint were used to match the colors found in the decorative paper and then used it to paint the dots on the charger. After letting the paint dry, the charger was sealed with a layer of Vinyl Effects.






Using the Glass Charger as a template, cut and piece together a background from paper and mod podge it to the backside. Otherwise leave the charger as is with the clear background










Fashion a cozy and inviting welcome by dressing up our UL Vintage Embossed Metal Board with the addition of buttons and ribbons. An added glow of warmth was created by mixing in gold glitter into the Vinyl Effects and applied to the leaf embellishment.
