Fresh Ideas for Hostess and Customer Monthly Incentives—April

Spring is a time of new growth, a time when color returns to the great outdoors. It’s also a great time to bring some color indoors. 

For a truly unique display, construct a rosette out of paper and apply the expression onto a foam core base.  Reminiscent of State Fair ribbons, this project is fun and fashionable.

Easter is full of color and so is this project. To achieve this look, paint your MDF board white, and then paint stripes across the board. Once it is dry, sand the board smooth and finish with a white-wash (1-part paint; 2-parts water) coating.

“Live what you love,” what a great, inspiring message that many of us need reminding of on a daily basis. This project is a combination of color, patterns, fabric, ribbons, and thinking outside of the box. For example, turn around the MDF board so the beveled edges are on the backside. Paint a layer of vinyl effects over the fabric so the vinyl expression will stick.

Green, black, & white is a stylish color combo that is popping up everywhere. It’s also just what was needed for a chic color palette for this elegant expression. Using only a few simple supplies,  create a fashionable welcome sign that is suitable for a myriad of décor styles.

Tips & Tricks: Flocked Paper

When working with flocked paper, use paper that is only partially flocked and has plenty of space for the expression to adhere to. Be sure to test a small area with a piece of the transfer tape or clear tape to make sure it won’t pull off the all the flocking. Work slowly when applying the expression and use your transfer tool to help you pull the expression away from the transfer tape if needed.

Creative Ideas for our FREE Product Day!

Take our black 16" x 16" Frameworks Photo Frame (#300236) and spray paint it white (this will likely take several coats).  Then cut the expression between the “g” in spring and the “t” in time and apply “spring” to the top of the frame and “time” to the right side of the frame as shown.  To complete the frame, add your favorite springtime photo and display it on our Trimmings Simple Easel (#300201).

No one enjoys spring cleaning, but this cute board makes your to-do list sweet and stylish.  Start with the Foundations pre-drilled MDF Board (#300132), and paint it with our Toolbox Paint in Lemon Chiffon (#300153). It will take two to three coats to get good coverage in this color, and it is recommended that you prime the board in white first to get the best results. Then add our Trimmings Bulldog Clips (#300134—for the set of 4),then, tie black and white gingham checked ribbon around each one.  Once the board is dry and cured, add the expression. 

Create a charming piece of Shabby Chic wall décor.  Cut the Free Springtime expression in half and off-set it on our Foundations Vintage Embossed Metal Charger (#300163). Then enhanced it with 3 different sizes of butterfly embellishments (2” #4411402, 4” # 4526004, 5” #4526005) in Spring Hyacinth (#9069 and a pink Mini Bloom (#300192). This charming display was inspired by the beautiful colors found in a French Country kitchen. When painting any of UL’s melamine foundations, remember to use a spray paint formulated for plastic and give it enough time to dry and fully cure before applying the expression.

Create a playful welcome for any season with this versatile expression. As pictured, the welcome becomes a wintry wonderland in Robin’s Egg on the navy board.
